Harrison Spa Motel was named after a Belgian town called Spa by the first owner who came from Belgium.  Since the Roman times, Spa vacationing is traditionally linked to "take mineral hot thermal bath" for their purported health benefits.  It is also claimed that the word SPA is an acronym of various Latin phrases such as "Sanitas Per Aquam" meaning "health through water".

About Harrison Hot Springs

Harrison Hot Springs, seated on the beautiful Harrison Lake which is 80 km long and 8 km wide, is one of the oldest among 18 hot springs in British Columbia.  The healing hot mineral waters of Harrison Hot Springs was known as the "healing place" by the local First Nations for thousands of years and was first discovered by Europeans in the 1850's.

By soaking in mineral-rich and naturally heated water in Harrison Hot Springs, people can relax their body and mind as if all tension and worry are washed away.  It also allows minerals to pass through your skin and be absorbed and utilized by body cells.  This can fight the effects and symptoms of fatigue, insomnia, edema, poor micro-circulation and repressed immune system.

The public hot springs is accessible by all visitors to Harrison Hot Springs and one minute away from the Spa Motel.
